From the 27th of May to the 4th of June, 31 pilots gathered to compete in the Open Class at the annual UK Nationals in Lasham. Despite a tough week with primarily blue and windy conditions, Andy Davis once again emerged as the champion flying his JS-MD 1C “80”. In second place was Ian MacArthur flying an 18-meter JS1B “DZ”, and in third place was Martin Clark also flying his JS-MD 1C.

Out of the 31 competitors, 9 pilots flew the JS1, and 6 of those pilots ended in the top 10. Proving that the JS1C is still very much a force to be reckoned with in the Open Class.
