We are honored to officially announce the winners of the Jonker Sailplanes Challenge 2022. The board has nominated the following juniors who will be competing, in less than 2 weeks’ time, at the South African Club Class Nationals in Potchefstroom (South Africa):
Zach Yamauchi, United States of America | California
Niklas Hahn, Germany | Lower Saxony
Jonker Sailplanes wants to promote gliding worldwide and support young pilots in developing their soaring skills.
There will be two winners each year, the junior who wins:
– the Sprint competition for Europe,
– the Sprint competition for the rest of the world excluding Namibia.
Registration fee, aircraft, tows, and accommodation will be paid by Jonker Sailplanes (JS), travel to and from South Africa is at your own expense.
The award also includes a factory tour at the JS factory and a cross-country flight in a JS glider.
