The 2019 German Championships in the 15m and 18m classes was presented in Marpingen August 2019 .
15m class champion Steffen Schwarzer and runner-up David Bauder finished strong on the last day to ensure their podium places. Also hats off to Georg Theisinger who just got his nose in front of Ollie Springer and secured an overall 3rd position. George with Laurenz on his side won the last contest day at 135km/h.

The father/son combination’s performance is quite remarkable if you take into account they both outlanded on day 1.
Holger Karow multiple-world champion who flew the JS3 for the first time took gold in the 18m class. And Thomas Melde showed again why the JS1-Evo is such a great glider, taking silver with Sebastian Humann finishing 3rd in his 29.

It was a great contest, with 10 flying days. The weather was not straight forward, and the pilots who were patient when required and shifted to the right gears when it mattered got the dividends.
A few pilots really could count themselves unlucky. Day 1 saw 16 outlandings in the 15m class, with the most unluckiest pilot maybe Georg coming short with only one kilometer. Micheal Pfennig also had bad luck on day 1, but followed this up with 3 day wins and a top 10 finish. Our JS3 pilots really found their gears after the first day and won 6 of next 9 days!
In the 18m class 13 pilots came short on day 1. Katrin Senne with team mate Steffi Muele were some of the unlucky pilots who came just short on day one, loosing 400 points in the process. Finishing within 300 points of the winner was quite a remarkable comeback for Katrin, who obtain a Permit to Fly for her brand new JS3 just a couple of days before the contest started.
